What this website collects, and how your tax information is protected.
This website collects very little. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising, and we do not track you around the internet. Your tax information is protected by federal law and is never shared without your written consent, except as needed to file your returns.
If you fill out the Document Portal Information Request form, we receive what you type in: your name, email address, phone number, street address, the kind of return you need, and any note you add. We use it to call you back and to set up your secure document portal. Nothing else.
The form is handled by Formspree, a service that delivers form submissions to our office by email. Formspree may keep a copy of your submission under its own privacy policy.
Please do not send your Social Security number or tax documents through the form or by email. Call the office instead, and use your secure document portal for documents.
Clients upload tax documents through a secure portal provided by Wolters Kluwer CCH, a long-established provider of professional tax software. The portal is separate from this website, has its own password that you create, and is governed by Wolters Kluwer’s security and privacy terms. We set up a portal only after you call us, and we never ask for documents by email.
The site is hosted by GoDaddy. Like every web host, its servers keep routine logs of each request: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting.
We do not use Google Analytics or any other tracking or advertising tools, and the site does not set tracking cookies.
Two pieces of the site load from Google. Our fonts come from Google Fonts, and the map on our About page is embedded from Google Maps. When those load, your browser connects to Google, which can see your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
Once you become a client, the information you give us is tax return information, and it is governed by much stricter rules than this website.
Section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code prohibits tax preparers from disclosing or using your tax return information without your written consent, apart from narrow exceptions such as filing your return. Tax preparers are also covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the FTC Safeguards Rule, which require us to protect client information.
In practice, your returns are prepared in our office, your documents are not sent to outside contractors or overseas, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.
You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete an inquiry you sent. Tax records we are required to keep, we keep.
This website is meant for adults handling their own or their family’s or business’s taxes. It is not directed at children under 13.
